When Is Black Friday?
This year, Black Friday is on Nov. 29, so we'll have a little less than 4 weeks between Black Friday and Christmas. It's worth noting that some doorbuster deals start as early as Thanksgiving Day. And don't forget about Cyber Monday, which also has major deals, and falls on Dec. 2 this year.
How to Score Big Deals
We recommend an Amazon Prime membership to get access to the best deals. A membership costs $99 a year (or $49 per year for students). Prime members get free 2-day shipping, discounts, exclusive deals, and access to Lightning Deals. Other perks include access to Amazon's streaming music and video services — Amazon Prime Video and Amazon Prime Music — and cloud storage for your digital photos.
Also, consider getting an Echo or Alexa device for early access to deals. Amazon announced that customers who voice-shop get access to some of the best deals on Friday, Nov. 22 by simply asking, “Alexa, what are my deals?”
